March 2021 Member Webinar: "DNA Testing for Genealogy"

Program Description: Are you considering taking a DNA Test to learn about your heritage? Have you taken a test and want to learn more? Join us to learn the basics of genetic genealogy including the types of DNA testing, what testing can tell you, how DNA can be applied to genealogy research, and DNA testing for adoption/unknown parentage.


About the Presenter: Rhonda Hoffman is the Genealogy Specialist at the Central Library in Downtown Buffalo. She has a Master of Library Science from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Arts in History from SUNY Geneseo. Rhonda has been researching her own family history for over two decades and has served on the board of the Western New York Genealogical Society since 2011. She is currently the editor of the Society’s quarterly JOURNAL. Rhonda volunteers for Search Angels, an organization that helps adoptees find their biological families using DNA testing and traditional genealogy research.
