Program Description: The National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) is our country’s catalog of places of significance to our past. The National Parks Service oversees the NRHP and considers historic preservation “a conversation with our past about our future,” which makes it a perfect fit for genealogists. New York has over 6,000 listed sites. Our people are in there, but they aren’t easy to find. Michelle will show you how to coax them out of this hiding place bringing their stories along.
